Rosa Rosa

Brand Identity | Spring 2024

Objective + Concept

A full brand package for Rosa Rosa Salsa Mexicana, a locally owned salsa concept. Owner, Rosa, wanted to blend traditional artwork from her Mexican roots and indigenous Purepecha heritage with modern food packaging. This project included brand strategy, logo design, custom lettering, stationary, screen printed apparel, and packaging.

Process

Heavily inspired by Talavera tiles, our team set out to design a unique logo that prominently featured Mexican heritage and Rosa herself. All of the elements used in the logo are handdrawn by either myself or illustrator Teresa Aguilera.

Rosa wanted the bottles to fit together side by side on a shelf or in a box and resemble the traditional Mexican tiles. Packaging designs were created for the three flagship products: guacamole, salsa verde, and salsa roja.  Additional designs were created for more products down the road as well as an expanded color palette to accomodate more labels.

Significance

The Rosa Rosa brand design was largely guided by both cultural and competitor research. My main contributions include managing client relations and general project management, crafting the custom type for the logo design, and creating stationary layouts.
